Honey birch is a close- or fine-grained wood, prized for its strength and shock resistance. To give you an idea of its strength, hard wood floors and bowling alleys are made from hard birch!

In its natural state, birch wood typically has a whitish hue. Its color variations range from light red-brown heartwood to the white colored sapwood. Mineral streaks commonly occur in birch wood and will appear darker when stained.
